About LocalTakeHomePay

LocalTakeHomePay is an independent paycheck calculator for places where local income taxes matter. In Ohio and Pennsylvania, a city or school district can take a meaningful share of every paycheck, and the rules for how it is figured are easy to get wrong.

Every rate comes from the state's own published data: the Ohio Department of Taxation's rate files and, for Pennsylvania, the Department of Community and Economic Development's tax register. Every calculation rule is listed with its official source on ourmethodology page, along with how we test our results.
